1. Size of building 

What space do you have available to use? This could influence the type of storage. Will you require spacing for unloading and packing? 

2. Type of product 

What are the products you are storing? You should consider product Size, weight, height, percentage mix of products as well as frequencies of replenishment 

3. Product rotation 

How do you pick the pallet up off the lorry? You want to be storing the pallet the same way 

4. Flooring 

How good is the warehouse floor? When installing storage in a warehouse the flooring will need to be level but you also have to consider other factors, did you know that you cannot install on tarmac, cracked concrete, expansion joints or heated flooring.  

5. Type of Racking 

There is a variety of racking available so you can mix and match depending on what products and merchandise you are storing.

6. Pallets 

Do you intend on using pallets? If so, what type do you use – standard, Euros, mixture? What is the weight of the pallet (including products)?

Are the pallets you use odd sizes then maybe decking is a better alternative 

8. Machinery 

What will you be using to move your products? If you are using a forklift, what type? As this will influence what type of racking and pallets that will be used. 

9. Employees 

Will you require walkways around the warehouse? You will also need to ensure there are clear access routes to all emergency exit points. 

10. Protection 

What will you do to protect not only your racking but your investment such as anti-Spill Mesh or Pallet End Protection? 

Bonus: Installation 

Does the installation team have access? Is the Area Clear? There will be Business Disruption during Install so you will need to ensure that your customers are aware
