Cirencester Housing for Young People <\/a>(CHYP) provides accommodation for homeless people between the ages of 16-25, but also supplies 24-hour support to offer emotional and practical services enabling them to gain confidence and new life skills through living independently. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Alongside these services, CHYP also runs a charity shop to help fund the services through donations. The volunteers and trustees recently sought out a different kind of donation and asked for help from Rapid Racking.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rebecca Cotton, the charity’s Fundraising Officer, comments: \u201cDuring a manual handling course undertaken by staff at CHYP one thing that was identified as something we need was a large trolley for moving beds, wardrobes, and other furniture around.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Having donated previously to CHYP, Rebecca reached out to Rapid Racking to see if the storage supplier could donate a trolley. Head of Product and Services, Tom Ellis, sourced a Standard Modular Platform Truck<\/a> to donate to the charity. As a local organisation to Rapid Racking, Product Manager Ryan Collins delivered the truck to the charity’s site in Cirencester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Rebecca said: “In our two houses and shop we are always having to move things around and this will help no end. It means that when we need to move larger items like wardrobes, beds, and sofas around there is less risk to staff and volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Often you find it\u2019s the small things that can make the biggest difference.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ryan added: “It’s a rewarding part of the job being able to help charities that do such fantastic work for local communities.
